IELTS Preparation

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This programme will provide the learner with an opportunity to develop their language skills and knowledge to be better able to face the challenge of the IELTS exam. Even without taking the exam, the learner will gain real benefit with all round English improvement.

IELTS preparation is delivered as a part-time evening course from 5.30pm to 8.40pm Monday to Friday and includes 15 hours of tuition per week. It is available currently at two levels - Module 1 and Module 2 with Module 1 aimed at Intermediate level learners and Module 2 at Upper Intermediate to Advanced learners.

Enrolment takes place every Monday.

 No enrolment fee until 31st December 2008. Buy 12 weeks and pay for 10 weeks. Save a total of $600

CERTIFICATION & RECOGNITION

Certification in issued by International House Sydney - Teacher Training and Professional Centre upon sucessful completion of the course.

COURSE CONTENT

The IELTS Preparation course focuses on:

• Increasing your English language skills in the Key IELTS test areas - Writing, Speaking, Listening and Reading
• Building familiarity with the IELTS test format
• Practicing a range of test-taking strategies within given time limits

ASSESSMENT

Regular in-house monthly testing is incorperated into the programme.

ENTRY CRITERIA

There are two levels of the IELTS Preparation programme:

• Intermediate (IELTS 4.5 - 5.0): for students aiming for IELTS 6.0
• Upper Intermediate/ Advanced (IELTS 5.5 - 6.5): for students aiming for IELTS 7.0 and above

COURSE LENGTH

IELTS Preparation is a 12 week course for each level.

TRAINERS

IELTS Preparation teachers have all been selected for their experience and qualifications. They are all highly experienced teachers of English who have extensive experience in preparing students for English exams and in teaching Academic English in Australia and overseas.

If you are a non-native English speaker and you are in Sydney, please come in for a level test any Monday or Wednesday at 2:30pm.
