TEACHING 1-TO-1

Offered by distance Teaching 1-to-1 is designed for (trained) teachers who have some experience in this context or have an interest in finding out more before teaching in this context.

The Teaching 1-1 course consists of ten modules:  Motivation and learning styles, needs analysis and level testing, planning a series of lessons, teacher roles and cultural awareness, materials, the role of formal instruction in learning, writing skills and written reformulation, techniques to help students speak, speaking skills and spoken reformulation and learner training and study skills.

TEACHING YOUNGER LEARNERS (YLs)

Offered by distance education Teaching YLs is designed for (trained) teachers who have some experience in the YLs classroom or an interest in finding out more before teaching in this context.

The Teaching YLs course consists of ten modules: Teaching young & very young learners, classroom management, planning for YLs, materials, speaking and listening skills, reading and writing skills, clarifying language, different approaches to teaching YLs, using games in the YL classroom and dealing with mixed ability classes.

CAMBRIDGE DELTA

The DELTA offers candidates, who have substantial experience (minimum 2 years) of teaching English to adult speakers of other languages, the opportunity to:

• acquire new insights into this area and a deeper understanding of the principles and practice of ELT to adults
• examine their current practices and beliefs
• apply the results of their learning and reflection to their current professional lives and to circumstances beyond their present and previous teaching experience.

The DELTA is available in two formats:

• face-to-face
• distance mode.
