About IH Sydney - English and TESOL Teacher Training

International House Sydney is an English language college and specialist TESOL/TEFL teacher training centre. We are a member of the International House World Organisation (IHWO), the oldest and largest independent network of language schools in the world.  Established in 1953, today the IHWO network has over 140 language schools in over 45 countries.

The IHWO poineered communicative English language teaching and TESOL teacher training and is universally known for its ongoing expertise in this field. Collectively, the IHWO network of teachers and trainers are at the cutting edge of educational research, teaching techniques and materials development.  As a direct result, many internationally recognised English language teaching course books have been written by practising IH teachers.

Locally, International House Sydney has been operating in Sydney for over 20 years and trains over 1500 English language students and 700 teachers annually. IH Sydney is also the only English language and TESOL centre in Australia to be accredited by the University of Cambridge, NSW Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board (VETAB), National English Language Teaching Accreditation Scheme (NEAS) and J-Shine (Japan).  We are a member of English Australia (EA) and our commitment to quality teaching and training is central to our goal of raising the standards of English language teaching worldwide.

At International House Sydney we work with students, agents, schools, universities and Ministries of Education to provide English language teaching and TESOL services locally and overseas.  We offer a full range of accredited English language programmes and TESOL courses for native and non-native English speakers. We cater for all levels of English language student from beginner to advanced and offer courses in teacher training for new teachers and for professional development for experienced ESL/EFL teachers.

We are excited about the industry, the opportunities it provides to our graduates and the role that we play as educators.
